This limited edition Slingerland Radio King 5x14, is #47 of only 50 made. DW bought the Slingerland brand from Gibson in 2019 and introduced a modern version of this classic snare drum at the 2025 NAMM show. It is a faithful recreation of the iconic 1930s and 1940s classic. True to its vintage design, this snare features a steam-bent, solid North American maple shell with an original 30-degree rounded bearing edge for rich and deep warmth. Complete with nickel-plated hardware featuring a 3-Point Strainer for precise snare wire control, Nickel-over-Brass Stick Chopper hoops, and engraved Radio King logos, this snare delivers both vintage aesthetics and powerful performance. The Calfskin batter head is made from U.S. calf hides processed with care using traditional methods from the 19th and 20th centuries. 0.25mm thick, similar to medium weight hides from vintage-era drumheads, this head is stretched across a metal hoop instead of a wooden hoop used on vintage heads, which provides consistent tuning. Sounds absolutely amazing!
